There once was a nose
with exceptional gift.
He could tell you the color
of things that he whiffed.
He’d stick up his nostrils
high in the air,
and call off the colors
of your shoes and your hair...
Then—the Nose who knows everything got a surprise! In Nelly Shmagessen’s delicatassen the sandwiches reach a mile high. Best friends Ickey and Gooey really stick together. Stan the Man makes houses out of gravy. A mutt in a rut gets help from a friend. And, a curious cat learns when to keep his mouth shut.
These are some of the hard-to-resist characters from award-winning composer, filmmaker, author and artist, Neal Fox. Curl up with this book and the world will be a cozy place where you can be yourself.

This is a delightfully funny, insouciant book which at the same time introduces some seriously important life concepts.I loved reading it and I know my grandchildren will love it and they will also be given something to think about such as sticking to their own viewpoint and finding their own genius. This book is unusually charming!

It Weird to Grow a Beard eBook Neal Fox Reviews
Great book to read to my child. Funny quick rhymes, with great illustrations for his little attention span.
I love to read silly books with my kids and this fit the bill completely. We got to go through it before going to bed and they also greatly enjoy the artwork.
Neal's creative genius never ceases to amaze me! Kids (young and old) will love this book.
We really enjoyed this book! There are silly poems but also ones with great truths and principals for life. Loved it!!
I've seen Neal Fox's art in his live shows and on his website. There's a marvelous level of whimsy and joy, as well as truth, in all of his work. This book is no exception. Kids will love the clever silliness and delightful drawings (Nelly is a favorite illustration--and, be honest, it IS weird to grow a beard) that will also engage adults and captivate them into reading along.
I really loved reading "It's Weird to Grow a Beard" and felt like a kid again! Very funny, great illustrations and lots of silliness - just what every child loves. Not only will children love this book, they'll be given great advice about what to do if they're feeling down, the importance of being helpful to others, and the difference between truth and lies. Wonderful life lessons promoted in an very engaging manner. Would also be great encouragement for children to create their own poems and artwork. I strongly recommend this book for every home and classroom library. Neil Fox is a real talent...
How can you go wrong with veggies and wedgies?
The author has compiled a collection of very short, but in-depth poems that are fun to read, fun to speak and fun to figure out. They each, for the most part, seem to hold a deeper meaning so if you read the poems a few times the meaning can either hit you right off or trickle down into your brain. That's the fun part of poems; unraveling the mystery.
Great pictures, and the style changes so you don't get bored. The poem topics range from special noses to sticky friends. You have to be able to read euphemistic language to get the full feel for this little book.
This is a delightfully funny, insouciant book which at the same time introduces some seriously important life concepts.
I loved reading it and I know my grandchildren will love it and they will also be given something to think about such as sticking to their own viewpoint and finding their own genius. This book is unusually charming!
